Level 1 USA Weightlifting Certified Sports Performance Coach
Sports have always been a major part of my life, and I grew up playing competitive club soccer and volleyball in the Midwest. I went on to play Division III soccer at Lawrence University, a small liberal arts college in Wisconsin, while I completed my Bachelor’s degree. After recovering from several major knee injuries and graduating from college, I stopped playing soccer and took up long distance running while I completed my two Master’s degrees at the University of South Florida. I’ve run several half marathons and four ultra-marathon relays.
When I moved to Corpus Christi in 2009, running in the summer heat began to take a toll on my body and my enjoyment of running, and a friend suggested that I try Crossfit. In the summer of 2011 I started Crossfitting and I never looked back! Crossfit has gotten me in the best shape of my life and saved my knees from the pounding they took playing soccer and running 40 miles a week. I love the variety it offers and the opportunity to constantly see improvement in my own skills and strength. I am proud to be part of the XLR8 family that pushes and supports all athletes to be the best they can be.
