CrossFit Level 1 (CF-L1) Trainer
Level 1 USA Weightlifting Certified Sports Performance Coach

I was raised, for the majority of my childhood, in Nevada. In 1993 I joined the U.S. Army as was stationed in Ft. Hood, TX where I spent the majority of my 5 year enlistment.  In October of 2002 I began working for the City of Portland as one of the first 3 firemen as it transitioned from an all volunteer department to a fulltime paid department.  As of 2013 I am in a Captain’s position as a firefighter/EMT-I and have an Associate in Fire Science and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Emergency Management.

My wife joined Crossfitxlr8 in June 2010.  After about 9 months of her coming home and talking about Crossfit and telling me how much I would enjoy it, I decided to try it and have not looked back.  I have lost weight, gained muscle and I am in as good if not better shape now than I was when I was in the Army.  My job is physically demanding and requires me to be physically fit so finding Crossfit and our box was the perfect match.  XLR8 and the coaches keep me motivated with the varied workouts, the competition, and the challenge to keep striving for that next goal.  With hard work, things that you once thought were impossible will be part of your routine and you will be setting goals even higher than you imagined possible for yourself.  I am proud to be part of such a great team of coaches that help others reach and surpass their goals on a daily basis.
